How to Join Spent Magazine:

(in the most painless manner possible)

1. Read the RULES and GUIDELINES. Really.

2. Pick a PB. Then, pick a JOB. Hold them HERE.

3. Create a journal. It must somehow involve your character's NAME. You should have no excess 'X's, underscores, or numbers. Link your website to spentmod.

4. Upload at least FIVE icons of your PB. At least one of them must be without borders so we can put it in the directory.

5. Write your character's FIRST ENTRY* and BIOGRAPHY. Quantity does not equal quality, but neither does a complete lack of originality and detail. They must be interesting, insightful, and not riddled with grammatical errors. Points for hilarity will be granted on a case-by-case basis. E-points will be docked for the cliche. Leave them UNLOCKED.

*First entries should be written as though your character received their job at Spent, and has been granted the journal by HR and has to make an introduction to the office. Journals belong on an office network, and as such, it should be assumed that anyone using them works for Spent.

6. Give us an EXAMPLE OF YOUR WRITING. Link an example journal, a couple of threads you've written at another game, or write us a third person narrative with your character at Spent. We're not picky, so long as it's a good example of how you're liable to RP in our game. We encourage writing the narrative for Spent - it's a great character development exercise!

7. Register an AIM NAME. Since AIM doesn't limit these, it must contain your character's name and not a bunch of pointless filler. Put the AIM name in your journal's user info.

8. Request membership at: SPENTMAGAZINE, OFFICEMEMOS, SPENTOOC, SPENTDEV, and THECUBICLE. Membership at SPENTLINES is optional and unmoderated.

9. Friend THEBOSS, and SPENTMOD.

10. COPY and PASTE our application code into a comment and fill it out below.

The Re-Application:

Did you get dropped for inactivity, or left for some non-drama related reason? If your character has already been accepted to this game once, this is the way to re-add them. Keep in mind that if we dropped you for being a melodramatic ass/drama queen/troll, you won't be re-added. Nor will this happen if you are chronicly inactive and have died off 2349732 times already.

If you were removed from our communities, go through the motions in steps SEVEN and EIGHT in the application and request membership/add the mod journals.

At this point, we are not accepting characters who are not starting new at the magazine. Our game has been around several months, and it is quite literally impossible for someone to pick up that much back story and integrate into the game. Any character applying from this point forth will be newly hired.
